User Settings
User Settings let you manage your personal profile and security. This page is accessible to all users regardless of role.
Access User Settings by clicking your name and avatar in the top-right corner of the header, then selecting User Settings.
Profile tab
The Profile tab shows your personal information:
- First Name — editable. Change your first name and click Save.
- Last Name — editable. Change your last name and click Save.
- Role — display only. Shows your current role (Owner, Admin, or Member). You cannot change your own role — contact a workspace administrator.
- Email Address — display only. Shows the email address you use to sign in.
Security tab
The Security tab provides password management:
- Reset Password — click the Send Reset Link button. An email with password reset instructions will be sent to your registered email address. Follow the link in the email to set a new password.
Notifications tab
The Notifications tab decides what Finpilo emails you. You always see everything inside Finpilo itself: steps waiting on you appear on the Actions page under Waiting on You, and messages workflows send you appear under Messages. Email is an extra nudge on top, so you know to come and look without keeping Finpilo open.
Settings apply to the workspace you are in. If you belong to more than one workspace, set them separately in each.
There are two kinds of notification, each with the same two switches:
- Actions waiting on you — steps that need your decision.
- Notifications sent to you — messages workflows send you.
For each kind you can choose:
- Email as it happens — an email as soon as something new arrives. Off by default. If several arrive together, they come in one email rather than one each.
- Daily summary — one email each morning at 08:00 listing what is still waiting on you, plus any new messages. On by default. Nothing is sent on a morning when there is nothing waiting. Long lists show the first 50 and a count of the rest.
You can have both switched on. Changes save as soon as you flick a switch.
A few things worth knowing:
- Answer something before 08:00 and it will not appear in that morning's summary.
- Marking messages as read is not needed to stop emails. Reading them only clears the unread count in Finpilo.
- Switching Email as it happens on will not send you a burst of emails about things that were already waiting. You will hear about what arrives next.
- Decisions are always made in Finpilo. The email tells you what is waiting and links you straight to it.
