Finpilo — Overview
Finpilo is an AI-powered financial document processing platform. It reads your invoices, receipts, delivery notes, and other documents — extracts all data and assigns accounting dimensions such as VAT codes, posting accounts, and cost centers. You review, validate, and export.
This guide covers everything you need to get started and work effectively with Finpilo.
What Finpilo does
When you upload or forward a document to Finpilo, the AI processes it automatically:
- Extracts all header data (supplier, dates, amounts) and every line item (descriptions, quantities, prices, tax rates).
- Identifies the document type (Invoice, Receipt, Delivery Note, CMR, or Other).
- Recognizes the supplier and matches it against your partner database.
- Assigns accounting dimensions — VAT codes, cost centers, posting accounts, and any custom dimensions you have configured — based on document content and learned patterns.
- Presents the processed document for your review in a side-by-side view: the original document on the left, the extracted and enriched data on the right.
You review the results, correct anything if needed, validate, and export to your accounting system.

Supported document formats
Finpilo accepts the following file formats for upload and email processing:
- JPEG / JPG
- PNG
Documents can be in any language. Handwritten, printed, scanned, or photographed documents are all supported.
Important: one document per file
Finpilo extracts data from the first document in each uploaded file. If a PDF contains multiple invoices (for example, a batch file with several invoices concatenated together), only the first invoice will be processed. Split such files into individual documents before uploading.
